Well what a turn up for the books, this Sunday, Murielle drove me to the first meeting of the 2cv club de Jersey. I finally got to meet with all my sisters and brothers living in Jersey. Boy was I in for a treat, 9 other 2 cv turned up, excited and shiny, with their owners in tow… and 1 of my cousin, Noddy the Mehari…
Just as well that before taking me out, Murielle had given me a wash and dry so I was all nice and shiny, reflecting the sun…. I was in a good mood, no tantrums this time, started on the button, drove like a queen….
Murielle went there not knowing anyone, but as she can’t help herself, let her big mouth do the work and talked herself into doing the club’s website and setting up their facebook page…. I should have kept a closer headlight on her but she managed to slip past me to go get a coffee and i couldn’t hear the conversation!!!
So let me tell you about it… We all met in a car park in town (St Helier) and then drove along the avenue before turning towards Mont Felard to take the road to the Farm House were we gatecrashed the meeting of the classic cars club (he he he ) there were a few surprised faces when our little cavalcade arrived. One of the gents quickly left to replace his classic with one of my sisters, a blue and white dolly that was languishing in his garage. Could have wiped her before taking her out mind you, she was dusty the poor thing !
After we allowed our humans a break for them to get a coffee and get to know each other a bit bette (after all, we need them to form some friendship ties so they can get us together again)… we drove in a convoy to one of the north coast car park for a photo session… Pretty cool.
The human decided on the next time they would bring us together and all of a sudden it was all over, Murielle drove me back home and somehow, I felt lonely again. At least now I know I have family on the island and it won’t be too long before I see my siblings again, something to look foward to 🙂
