Out of the box
I had an early start this morning, I was rudely awakened from my long slumber at 6 am… Murielle opened the door of the garage wide saying wide and shine, it is a sunny day and you are going for a long run… I was so eager to get out that I started without any trouble. But, just to remind her who’s boss, I decided to stall to increase her anxiety levels at the first yellow stop line I could find. Well, I do have to make up for being neglected during the health pandemic that plagued the humans.
I felt wanted.
It turned out that the lovely Chris had requested my services this morning and refused to climb into the Abominable (Murielle’s latest acquisition, a Skoda Yeti). He hurt his back and needed to be taken to the Chiropractor, on the other side of the Island. Apparently, his first trip there, yesterday, was with the Abominable and he felt all the bumps and humps of the roads on the way there and back. So he requested the soft cradle of my seat and my lovely suspension system for this second trip.
On the road
The ride was lovely, although Murielle didn’t go any higher than 3rd gear and faster than 30 miles an hour to be kind to Chris’ back. She did rather well at dodging potholes and plate covers on the way, boy the roads of this island are in a sorry mess when you’re back is hurting! I did hear some colorful language coming from Chris every now and then.
Finally
I finally made it through to Fliquet, despite the roadblock at the top of Rozel where the road was being worked on. As we were early, Chris decided to wait with me and keep me company, I think that when he is better, I will ask him to look at my innards again, I am getting a little growly since the winter and need tinkering with. I can’t wait for him to get his magic hands on me again. He seemed to be walking better when he came out of the lovely Chiropractor’s hand, and once settled back into my loving seat, we set off for home where I delivered him safe and sound after another session of pothole dodging. I can play ambulance again…
