Freedom at last !!!
I have been cooped up in my tent-garage for at least 4 days… I was not happy, no one even came out of the house to wish me a Merry Christmas… I was sulking big time when the flappy garage doors opened… And even though it was Chris that put the keys in the ignition, I just coughed and coughed and I decided it was time to go for a drive.
Bogged down
Off we went, Chris behind my wheel and Murielle in the passenger seat, I think their initial idea was to take me for a drive, and them going for a walk… I’m all eager to stretch my tyres and Chris had to reigned me in a little on the airport road, I had the wind on my back and was ready to take off and race with the planes!!! bring it on, big boys, you don’t scare me….
Anyway, off I went to town, through the tunnel direction Gorey, Chris was just saying to Murielle he had scouted a possible location for taking my picture in the week as she was saying ‘Oh look at that building”. It was the building that Chris had spotted in the week… Those two can be uncannily telepathic… they seem to know what the other one is thinking, it is sometimes spooky, even for me!
As there were a little track leading to the field behind the building, Chris bravely decided to take it, but wait… hang on a minute… No way man! there is MUD on that track, but yes he forces me up there, 1st gear, slams into reverse to get me closer to the building… no more track, just grass and mud… I’m am NOT going there ! Absolutely not, I’m not doing it.! So I started spinning my wheels around and flinging mud everywhere, Murielle is just going to have to wash me later… I’m not going anywhere running on the spot.
Murielle has had enough, she hops off and start pushing me, Chris get the 1st gear on and start scooting me out of the mire… They finally managed to move me out of the bog onto more solid ground. From the corner of my headlight I can see Murielle has trouble keeping upright. I cringed when I thought that she was about to face plant in the mud… I don’t want a dirty muddy person inside my cab… yuk! Thankfully, she caught herself in time and managed to stay on her feet.
A few photos later, and after a chat with a nice couple walking the lane and admiring me; I let them climb aboard again after ensuring they had wiped their feet thoroughly of course. and round the island we went before getting back home just before sunset.
Murielle took a wet sponge to get rid of the worse mud, looked at me and said that i’d have to wait till tomorrow before getting a proper wash. Now I’m going to be itching all night until I get sparkly clean again. Not fair! I think she is trying to pay me back for my tantrum in the mud today, I should have span the wheels quicker and catch her in the face… Oh well, there is always a next time!
