Rain did someone say rain?
Well at first there was Abigail, then Barney, then Desmond… I forgot which one started with C and then stopped remembering the names… Storms keep battering Jersey. Although I hate being cooped up in my tent, I am grateful that it keeps the heavy rain away from me. After all, if it rains too much I multi task as a foot spa ! And Murielle doesn’t think it’s cool… Can’t please some people !!!
Well the first Saturday of the year was eventful, over night, the winds picked up to 90 mph and the front of the tent gave up, the bottom straps snapped! Twang !!! and then it started to flap right in the middle of a muddy puddle…. Guess what !?! the tent had a mud fight with me and I lost !!! 🙁
By the time daylight arrived, I looked liked a spotty Dalmatian. Needless to say Murielle was muttering blue words under her breath as she had just cleaned me the day before !!! Mind you I was proud of myself, it looked like if I’d been rallying, made look cool! All i can say is that Murielle and I agreed to disagree on that day. However as the weather did not relent I stayed dirty for a few days.
The most funny sight I’ve seen in a loooong time was Murielle hanging on from the frame in the morning as the portable garage was trying to take off over the roof of the house! The pegs holding it down had been lifted from the ground and all the could was hand onto the frame to ground it whilst Chris drove to town to collect 20 gallons drums. The drums were filled with water (4 of them) and hanged from the frame to hold it down. I believe that Chris had to defrost Murielle after prizing her hands away from the frame. She must like me after all to put herself in these situations… I do feel appreciated (sometimes).
The weather gods relented

I was starting to get very bored as Murielle stubbornly refuses to take me out when the weather is rubbish… I do take my revenge though, when she wants to start me after a long wait, I do take my time and splutter a very loooong while before letting my engine purr. She will learn her lesson one day, I can be more stubborn than her !
Any way, the weather god relented and became a bit more friendly last week end and I got a wash, it took Murielle 2 1/2 hour to clean me. In the end she was a little cold! But, hey, I’m worth it 🙂
Sunday Club run

Sunday was the Club’s outing and i took part, Murielle took me to the other side of the island to meet my sisters, only 8 of us turned up at the starting point, another joined us at the finish line though, not bad for a winter meeting. Between the start up point and the finish line, we all detoured via the local Driver & Vehicle Standards office, were we all had to undergo inspection before being allowed on the Jersey roads. As if any of us would fail…. we look so cute that they eventually give up and give us our Jersey plates.
Fun shot
To give you a bit of history, the other day I couldn’t get anywhere in town as all the roads were clogged up by grumpy striking taxi drivers revolting against changes to the taxi systems in the island (BBC link). Murielle thought it would be funny to give me and my sisters some ‘taxi’ hats and start a fictional cab company… what on earth is she thinking of?
