Oh my! It’s August, the sun should be high in the sky warming up the island; but it’s gone into hiding and not showing any sign of coming back. And I think, no, I know, it’s Murielle’s fault.
Why do I think that? Well she has booked some time off work to go to the beach, got the sun tan lotion, the beach outfit and beach towel ready and whilst she was doing that, she started singing….
Someone help me please! even when she sings with the radio on (rather loudly as I can’t hear the lovely purr of my engine), i think someone is stepping on the cat!!!! Her singing is the equivalent of chalk screeching on the black board (if like me, you are old enough to remember how awful this sound is). Yes, that’s right, she can’t sing folks, but she thinks she can!!!
Murielle’s family says that whenever she sings, it rains!!! well folks, I concur! We can set off in the morning with a nice blue sky, but as soon as she exercises her vocal chords with the radio, the grey clouds appear and the drops start tumbling down… You would think that she would have realised what she was doing by now…
But today, it started to rain before we set off, so I can only think that she sang in the shower this morning, because, boy Oh boy, it did bucket it down from 10 am till 5pm… about 5 centimetres of rain fell from the sky, this didn’t stop her and she took me for a drive to run an errand to a friend’s house, there was rather a lot of puddle around and she was not very good at dodging them. She is going to have a lot of cleaning up to do once the rain stop, I expect to me back to my sparkly shiny self !
I will now leave you with a request: I am anxious to see some sun soon, so please someone tell Murielle to stop singing? A charity sponsored no singing for a month perhaps? I need some sun to dry my roof!
