It would be a shame to be on this rock and not embracing it’s surfing lifestyle. Chris is a big water sport fan and waveskies or use his sea kayak every week end, even in the winter. Murielle has been known to snorkel or use a boogie board, but that’s it. And this year, she hasn’t set foot in the water yet… Mind you will all the singing she’s been doing, she brought down a lot of rain on us this summer (and when it wasn’t raining, she was working, the only time when she can’t sing).
One good thing about Murielle is that she talks to anyone who doesn’t mind talking to her which means that she knows a lot of people. And one of them is Jeremy, who has been surfing for as long as he can remember. Jeremy’s dad founded and owned of the 1st Jersey long board surfing club. A few facebook messages later and here I am, all washed, polished and buffed, parading in all my splendour in front of the original surf club, a.k.a the green shack on the file mile road.
Then, out of nowhere…. Nigel (Jeremy’s brother) arrives, surf board under his arm and beads of sea water sparking over this head and wetsuit. Nigel wasn’t aware I was going to be there and asked what I was doing on private land. I was invited, of course, thankfully Murielle is used to grumpy bears and the banter soon started. It wasn’t long before she had a reluctant Nigel posing for her in the pictures too, sharing my limelight. But that was before he admitted that he preferred Dyanes (shudder), 2cvs are so much prettier, this man has a disturbing taste !

Murielle then persuaded Jeremy and Jane to join in and start their modelling careers and to be honest, I think they looked great, I even opened my doors for them to make them feel welcome, it was fun to have someone pose with me. It really looked like I was on a surfing holiday.
And then, Murielle decided to up the game, she opened my roof and ask Jeremy if he could slip a surf board inside as well as throwing a few towels over me…. making me look untidy, what was she thinking of ???
