It’s Sunday the 1st November…. 3 reasons for me to be happy:
- It’s Sunday, I’m sure to go for a drive
- It’s the first Sunday of the month and that means 2cv club meet, I’m gonna get together with my sisters…
- The sun is shining….
And yes i’m right, bright an early, Murielle got me out of my shelter, got the buffing glove out and made me all shiny again, getting rid of all that floor dust that had settled on my lovely paint work.
I reminded Murielle that I was thirsty and she needed to take me to the petrol station. It’s amazing how obliging she can get when I threaten to stop dead and refuse to start… especially when the traffic is backing up behind me… mwahaha… She is putty in my hand when I need a refill !
Boy do I get looksies when I am all nice and shiny… I love it, well wouldn’t you enjoy being smiled at, waved at and flirted with, just cos you’re all pretty and shiny? Well I do…
A drive to town to meet the sisters on the car park, some I’ve met last month, some didn’t come and some new ones showed up too… My green eyed goblin showed up… A lovely looking Mehari, arrived, she was shinier than me !!!! I nearly cried, how dare she be prettier than me?
I was still grumbling when the signal to go for the drive was given, I bundled Murielle behind the wheel and took off in a huff… At least I got to lead the convoy ! the AK van was close behind me. I chose to be a reasonable (yes, I can be sometimes) and let all the minis coming from the East pass when I was stopped at the yellow line. And off i went, glued Murielle’s foot to the accelerator cos I loooove feeling the wind on my windshield! On the avenue we went, me and my sisters behind me … tut tut to however waves at us, i’m preening like a queen !
Then, the AK van behind me hoots and makes signs…. Distracted I lose control of Murielle’s mind and she slows down, the eejit thought that it was a reminder not to go to fast so all the cars could keep together in a convoy. So time to earn our nickname of tin snail and crawl the rest of the avenue all the way to Porlelet inn at a steady 25 miles and hour. Arrived at destination, Sean told Murielle he had hooted and waved in support of the sponsored dog walk, not to try and slow me down…. darn my human can be so dumb at times, i’m surprised she’s not blond !
The humans went for a coffee and a chat leaving us to shine and attract attention in the car park, a few people stopped to take photos, can’t blame them there is nothing as pretty as a group of 2cvs gleaming in the sunshine.
