Thursday 2nd June
Oh my, I’ve never seen such an early start! Chris & Murielle abandoned me on the car deck of the boat yesterday evening and went to find their cosy overnight cabin. How selfish was that? They could have kept me company… They get some privacy and I have to slum it in the general dorm! I didn’t get the best night, some cars were dreaming they were motorbikes and purring away whilst others were making loud trumpeting obnoxious noises with their exhausts. I didn’t get much sleep, and I am cranky when I don’t get my beauty sleep. Anyway, boat arrived in Portsmouth at 6:30 am and off we went, I am back in the UK !
I got into trouble because I decided to follow the nice tail lights of a swanky red Mazda when leaving the boat and ended up in the Britanny Ferries departing docks… uh oh 🙄 Chris takes charge of me and redirect me onto the main roads. Oh well I can’t be perfect everyday, life would be too boring!
Pump Bottom Farm
I drove Chris & Murielle to Chichester, to a place called “Pump Bottom Farm” now, that’s a curious name….
It is the first 2cvGB national meeting that Murielle & Chris are attending with me, as I have no memories from before they got me, I don’t know if I’ve been to others in the past… But it’s great, amnesia won’t stop me from socializing I can be friendly when I want to 😇. A bit of rally driving through the noisy camp, then the less noisy camp to reach the quiet camping site. Lots of space as there is only 3 plots occupied. Chris & Murielle soon had their tent pitched up and their first visitor Sean, coming to introduce himself and have a nice little chat. You would think that they could have packed the gazebo to put over me? Oh but no, I have to sleep under the stars… Or the clouds as the sky isn’t very clear, if it rains I will make sure they get wet feet when they get in for a drive, serves them right after all!
Going for a drive
Camp set up and flying the Jersey flag proudly, Chris & Murielle are taking me for a drive to explore the area, they took the main road to East Whittering where I stopped for a photo opportunity. Can you spot me?What a difference from the Jersey beaches, so many pebbles and some grey sand… amazing how beaches can be so different. They then decided to go to Selsey to have a look at the beach there, so they took windy little roads to get they, they reminded me of the jersey lanes. Murielle managed to beat the GPS for navigation so Chris said that after 14 years she finally managed to get her orientation badge! I think she was proud of it as she usually manages to get lost in a tea cup!
